On April 21st we had a meeting with Iris Van Rooij and Mark Blokpoel (DONDERS Institute) in which we discussed the orientation of the work corresponding to OBJ1 and, in particular, the task T1.1 “Cognitive principles of Human-Human communication”.

The main idea was to pose scenarios of controlled difficulty in which the robot is faced with decisions that it cannot base on statistical regularities (patterns) in data; that is, decisions where there is ambiguity or where the robot has to rely on attributes of the objects (e.g., if sugar is out, I use honey, since the goal of both “ingredients” is to sweeten).
